PCMag wrote up their top picks for the best computer mice of 2020 and Logitech was listed for 4 of the top ten spots. Logitech makes computer mice under the Logitech and Logitech MX brand. They have also produced ergonomic mice and gaming mice.īy the end of 2008, they announced they had produced 1 billion mice since 1985. In 2000, they produced a tactile mouse but it was never marketed. They’ve also made inertial and gyroscopic mice, or mice that do not require a surface to operate. In 1984, they came up with their first wireless mouse, the Logitech Metaphor. The company introduced its first mouse, the P4 Mouse at a trade show called Comdex, in 1982. Half of all Logitech’s products are made in China and the rest are made elsewhere in Asia. Production was then transferred to the United States, Taiwan, Hungary and Ireland before ultimately being moved to China. The first mice produced by Logitech were made in Le Lieu, in Switzerland. ![]() ![]() They are one of the foremost PC peripherals companies in the world. You can't go wrong with either one, but we recommend spending more on the newer mouse.Logitech computer mice are made by Logitech International S.A., a Swiss computer peripherals and software company based in both Newark, CA and Lausanne, Switzerland. If you don't own any of these mouse yet, the MX Master is about $40 more than its predecessor. If you already have the Performance MX, I the new features make it worth the update. Switching between multiple devices is also very convenient and the dedicated thumb wheel is handy when scrolling horizontally. You no longer need the USB dongle however it is still included if you prefer to pair it that way. The Logitech MX Master has several improvements over its very popular predecessor, the Performance MX. When the battery runs out, I can just plug it in to a microUSB cable and still use it while charging. I haven't done any comprehensive battery tests, but it's something I don't even have to worry about. Logitech claims the MX Master can last up to 40 days from a full charge based on six hours of daily use. Moving the mouse left or right while holding the gesture button switches between virtual desktops. For example, holding the gesture button while moving the mouse up displays the Start menu. The MX Master also features a gesture button (the area below the thumb) which lets you assign different actions when holding the gesture button while moving the mouse. You can assign actions like activating Action Center, Cortana, Start, Desktop, and even keystrokes to any of the buttons. This means easily switching devices with just a click of the button at the bottom of the mouse, instead of having to unpair/re-pair.Ĭustomizing the buttons and gestures require installing the Logitech Options software. ![]() I like that the Logitech MX Master can pair with up to three devices. Pairing the receiver means constantly removing it when having to connect other things like USB drives. For example, the Surface Pro 3 only has one USB port. Using Bluetooth means not having to use up a USB port on your device. You can use the included USB receiver or pair through Bluetooth. Setting up the the Logitech MX Master is a breeze.
